Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 June 2026
Kunoozi (“Kunoozi”, “we”, “us”) helps parents keep their family’s school communications organized. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using Kunoozi you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and an encrypted password (managed by our authentication provider).
Google account & Gmail (with your permission). If you connect Gmail, you grant Kunoozi read-only access to your Gmail. We use it solely to find and read school-related emails and generate your family digest. We store an encrypted credential so Kunoozi can do this on a schedule; we never receive your Google password.
Information derived from your emails. From school emails we extract and store: the sender, subject, a short preview, and date; your children’s names, grades, and school as stated in or inferred from those emails; and the digests we compose for you.
Usage data. Basic technical logs needed to operate and secure the service.
How we use your information
- Identify which senders are your child’s school.
- Read school emails to extract dates, deadlines, forms, and actions.
- Compose and deliver your daily family digest (on your dashboard and, if enabled, via Telegram).
- Operate, secure, and improve the service.
Google API data — Limited Use
Kunoozi’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We request read-only Gmail access and use it only to provide and improve Kunoozi’s digest features.
- We do not use Gmail data for advertising.
- We do not sell Gmail data.
- We do not allow humans to read your email, except with your consent (e.g. to resolve a support issue), where necessary for security, or to comply with law.
AI processing
School emails are processed by automated systems, including AI models, to summarize content and extract dates and actions. Digests are generated automatically and may contain errors — always confirm important dates with your school.
Where your data is stored and how we protect it
Your data is stored with our cloud database provider on managed infrastructure. Google access credentials are encrypted at rest, access is restricted, and each family’s data is isolated. No method of storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us run Kunoozi — our hosting and database provider, our AI processing provider, Google (for Gmail access), and Telegram (if you enable digest delivery) — and only as needed to provide the service, or where required by law.
Retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can:
- Disconnect Gmail at any time (from your Google account settings or by contacting us), which stops further access.
- Delete your account, after which we delete your personal data and stored emails and digests, except limited records we must keep by law.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us.
Children’s information
Kunoozi is used by parents and guardians. Information about children (such as names and grades) is processed on the instruction of the parent account holder, to organize their family’s school information.
International processing
Kunoozi operates from Qatar and may process data on infrastructure located in other countries. By using Kunoozi you consent to such processing.
Changes
We may update this policy; we will revise the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, notify you.
